Molly's Gingerbread House

Molly's class made gingerbread houses today and I got to go and help.  I've made gingerbread houses with BHESA kindergarteners for 11 years now, but this was my first year doing it as a mom.  Super fun!  Molly is so artsy and creative--her gingerbread house turned out so cute!  Today was bittersweet as tomorrow is Molly's last day at Benton Heights.  We're excited about homeschooling but sad to leave her teachers and friends.

First Haircut

In case you hadn't noticed, Aaron's hair has been getting kind of scraggly looking.  I had been threatening to do it and finally got brave and cut it today.  He was so good!  I actually think that he found the whole experience fun.  He got a little fussy toward the end, but I have no doubt that it was because he was bored and not scared.  It totally changed his look, but he looks so handsome!  Such a big boy!  Where did my baby go??
What's this all about?

Homeschool

We have a rather exciting announcement.  Beginning in January, we are going to start homeschooling Molly.  (Rayna will continue going to her awesome preschool.)  I had the opportunity to do some planning today and I am getting excited!  (I rather enjoy teaching kindergarten!)  We are only committing to this decision until the end of the school year when we will reassess and see where God wants our family to go next as far as education is concerned.  We are so thankful for the awesome teacher that Molly has had for the last several months.  She has done awesome things with Molly that are going to make next semester easier for Mama!  :-)

Happy St. Nicholas Day!

We an an awesome St. Nicholas Day this year.  The kids got their stockings this morning.  Then the Joyners came over and the kids had hot chocolate and watched a Christmas movie.  Then this evening, the McArthurs had their annual St. Nicholas Day party where we had a traditional Turkish dinner and read the story of St. Nicholas.  Love this time of year!

Rayna's Gingerbread House

Rayna's class made gingerbread houses at school today and I got to go in to help.  Rayna has been talking nonstop about gingerbread men and gingerbread houses.  Last night when we were praying she said, "Mommy!  You forgot to pray for my gingerbread man house!"  So sweet!  Aaron also thought that making a gingerbread house was lots of fun......although I'm pretty more of the candy went into his mouth than onto the house!

Terrific Kid!

Molly was this month's terrific kid from her class!  We got to go to her award ceremony this morning and hear all of the wonderful things Molly's teacher said about her.  We are so proud of our terrific kid!
