On a rainy day...

You could have a snack....
Or you could finger-paint........Or play in the garage.....
Or just go out and play in the rain....
While your little sister watches.....
BUT....we are NOT going to complain! Because we desperately need the rain and the cooler weather it's bringing! After many, many days in the 90's, we're finally getting some Fall weather! Even though Brian thought it was a little premature, I even broke out the winter jammies! Yay for a rainy, Fall day! :-)

Countdown to 3

This time next month, our little sweetie will be three years old. 3?! Where has the time gone? She's not a baby anymore. She's not even a toddler. She really is turning into a big girl! It's so fun watching her personality develop. I think that's got to be the best part about being a parent. It's already fun to see the differences and similarities between Molly and Rayna.

Our almost-3-year-old has been TROUBLE this month! She is into everything! At least once everyday I catch Molly doing something naughty. Like pouring pepper all over some one's dinner, "washing" her clothes in the sink, coloring on the wall or some piece of furniture, etc. And she typically has some sort of sweet explanation for her behavior. Her favorite is, "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to!"

But for all of the trouble she's been into this month, she has been equally sweet. I absolutely LOVE having conversations with her. She asks questions about everything and is just so smart and observant. If I lose something (which happens quite a bit!), she is the first person I ask. Yesterday, we went to Target, but we went a different way. She told us we were going the wrong way. If I had had the sense of direction at 16 that she has at 3, I'd be in pretty good shape today! I'm looking forward to the day that she can tell me how to get where I need to go when I get turned around. :-)

She says the funniest things! These are some quotes from the last couple of days:

(Standing with an apple in one hand and cheese in the other.) "Daddy, can I have a snack?"

(After I had told her she couldn't do something she wanted to do.) "Mommy, you need to have a better attitude!"

(After telling Molly it was time to rest.) "We don't go to bed when it's daytime! We go to bed when it's nighttime--that's why it's called daytime and nighttime."

She's such a mess, but such a sweet little mess and I have no idea how I made it through life before my sweet girl! :-)

This Weekend.....

Went by WAY too fast! I'm sticking to my opinion that all weekends should be three day weekends! :-)

Anyway, although it was fast, it was fun! We went to the Discovery Place with Nana and some friends yesterday.
Then today, we were SO excited to see our friends the Joyces. They were in town for a Panthers game and came through Monroe to have dinner with us. It was a fun weekend!
And no weekend would be complete without a good Molly story. As I was writing this post, Brian came upstairs and said, "Do you smell fingernail polish?" You guessed it. Molly was in her bed giving herself a pedicure. She covered her toes, feet, and legs in bright pink fingernail polish. As we were scrubbing her down and having a heart to heart about staying in her bed, she responded, "I just got Mommy's fingernail polish so I could paint my toes and be so beautiful!"'s a good thing she's so cute!!UPDATE: Apparently, her raid of Mommy and Daddy's bathroom did not end at the nail polish. When we went to bed, we found that she had opened up ALL of the boxes of band-aids, gotten into the lotion, and dumped out ALL of the shampoos into the tub. All while she was supposed to be in her bed asleep. Brian turned her doorknob inside out and locked her in her room tonight. Stinker!

One of my favorite things about having two girls is hand-me-downs! Not only do I love the money it saves us, I also love pulling things out that used to be Molly's and reminiscing about when Molly wore them. And I love making new memories with Rayna wearing the same things. I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of Rayna in Molly's clothing and realized it was an easy task since about 90% of Rayna's wardrobe came from her big sister. It was actually pretty fun--and I LOVE a good excuse to post baby pictures of Molly! :-)

Fair Fun Friday!

Last night, we took the girls to the Cabarrus County fair. This was our first trip to the fair and Molly loved seeing all of the animals. We saw bunnies, and lambs, and cows, and ponies......but Molly kept saying that her favorite animal at the fair was the goat. So funny! It was a good time!
I also wanted to post some cute pictures from a birthday party we went to today. Molly loves pinatas--here she is trying to break it open. My friend Denise and her husband Jose MADE this pinata. Unbelievable! :-)
