Daddy: Are you excited about Rayna getting bigger? Then you all can play more and share a room.
Molly: Yeah, and she can get a chair and push it up to the T.V. and start Dora for me.
Me: Are you ready to take a bath?
Molly: Yeah....ummm, by the way, I need to talk to you about something.
Me: What's that?
Molly: I need to tell you that I don't need my hair washed.
Me: I'm going to go put Rayna to bed. When Daddy gets upstairs, you need to clean up the bonus room.
EXIT Me, ENTER Brian
Molly: Daddy, you need to clean up the bonus room so Mommy won't be mad at me.
Molly: Mommy! You buyed me cookies! May I eat some?
Me: No, we're getting ready to have dinner.
Molly: I don't want dinner!! I don't like dinner!
Me: Yes, you do! We are having empinadas!
Molly: I don't like empinadas!
Me: And rice.
Molly: Ewww.........I don't like rice either.
Me: And corn! You love corn!
Molly: Corn is yucky!
Me: I'm sorry you feel that way, honey, but you can't have cookies until after dinner.
Molly: I can have them after dinner? Ohh..... what's for dinner?
Me: *sigh* Empanadas.
Molly: Oooooo....I LOVE empanadas! What else?
Me: Rice.
Molly: Oh, nummy, nummy! I love rice!
Me: And corn.
Molly: Corn is my favorite!! Thank you, Mommy, for making me corn!
You gotta love that kid! :-)

Two years ago today.....
We held our precious Molly for the very first time. Now, two years later, we just can't imagine life without her. She is such an amazing little person with such an awesome little personality. We are so honored to have been chosen by God to be her parents.
To celebrate Molly's Adoption Day, we went out to eat Vietnamese. We had grand plans of trying out a Vietnamese restaurant that a friend had recommended, but when we got there they were no longer in business. We were all the way in Charlotte and it was already an hour past the girls' typical dinnertime and quickly approaching Rayna's bedtime, so we got on the phone with our amazing friend Scott (we love you, Scott!!) and he got us to another Vietnamese restaurant which turned out to be really good! Afterwards, we had ice cream for dessert! It was a fun day! Happy Adoption Day, Sweet Girl! We love you!

Another Milestone
Well, our little Rayna has hit another milestone. She is now standing independently! She's taken a step or two, but typically she stands up and then lunges forward face-first. Does anyone know what age caution sets in? Seriously. She will jump off the bed or couch without looking back. She attempts to jump out of her high chair just about every night. The poor child is always banged up, bumped up, and bruised up. She is fearless. But that's one of the many things I love about our sweet girl!

Hines Household Rules
I guess it may be true that your ideals of parenthood change a little after having children. After having children, we do things a little differently than we thought we would. But for the most part, we have rules. And at our house rules were NOT made to be broken. We stick to our guns.
Rule # 1: No high-fructose corn syrup.
Rule #3: No paci past your first birthday.Rule #4: Wash your face.Rule #5: Don't sit too close to the T.V.
And, most importantly, rule #6: All children must sleep in their beds--not in our laps. And absolutely NEVER in Mommy and Daddy's bed! :-)
Those are just a few of the Hines Household Rules.... :-)

Visit from Aunt Marie
We got to hang out with Brian's sister, Marie, this weekend. Marie is also a teacher and is getting ready to go back to work, but she had some time free this weekend so she came for a visit. I know I say this all the time, but I seriously have the best in-laws ever. And my sister-in-law is no exception. The girls always have such a great time with Marie--and so do we! :-)
Aunt Marie always brings crafts!
