Swing

After all of the snow last week, this stretch of spring-like days has been wonderful.  We have been spending lots of time outside.  Every time I ask Aaron if he wants to go outside, he gets so excited.  He runs to the garage to get his shoes.  He loves to jump on the trampoline, slide, and swing.  He definitely prefers this weather over the snow!

Valentine's Day Cookie Party

Rayna had her preschool Valentine's Day cookie party a week late due to the snow last week.  Molly got to go along--one of the perks of being homeschooled!  Rayna was so excited about having us there.  We decorated cookies, had lunch in the cafeteria, and came back to eat the cookies and other treats.  I always love visiting Rayna's classroom.  She has made unbelievable growth since starting preschool last year.  We are so proud of our girl!

Play Dough

 The girls and I made play dough one morning last week while Aaron was napping.  All three of the kids have had a great time playing with the play dough.  Of course they have been making lots of Valentine's Day hearts.  :-)

Baby Avery

 Aaron's birthday buddy Nolan has a new baby sister!  We went over to the Hoovers house last night and the girls enjoyed holding Avery.  Sweet baby!

Happy Valentine's Day!

 Molly has been soooooo excited about Valentine's Day.  Everyday this week, she has looked at the calendar and counted how many more days until Valentine's Day.  One of the snow days, she worked really hard (mostly by herself) to make cards for her family, friends, and neighbors.  She was so excited to give them out today.  Rayna was so excited by her card from Molly that she ran into the kitchen, colored Molly and picture, and said, "Happy Valentine's Day, Sissy!"  So sweet!  We had heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast and heart-shaped meat and cheese for dinner.  It was a fun Valentine's Day.

More Snow!

Yet another snow day!  It started snowing again this morning and continued snowing on and off all day today.  There was so much snow that even Daddy had to stay home from work!  We all loved having Daddy home for a day in the middle of busy season.  Such a treat!  This is the most snow we've had since Brian and I have been married--definitely the most snow our kids have ever seen.  They had such a fun day.

Another snow day!

Hines Academy was cancelled today due to inclement weather conditions.  We got even more snow than we got last week and the kids had an absolute blast playing outside today!  Well, Molly and Rayna had a blast.  Aaron tolerated it from the comfort of his wagon.  And of course he loved eating the snow cream we made this afternoon!
Snow is okay if it means I get to have snow cream!

Say What?

The girls are always saying things that are super funny, sweet, cute, etc.  I thought I better document some before I forget!
Molly only has a handful of "baby" words--words that she mispronounces.  There are only a few of them left.  I never correct her because it's too cute!

Fridgadator = refrigerator
Smoovie = smoothie
Valentime = Valentine
Vietmanese = Vietnamese

Molly is always cracking us up!  Here are just a few of the funny things she's said recently:

 Molly (looking at a picture of me standing in front of my house as a kid):  What was your house made out of?
Me:  Brick
Molly:  They had BRICKS back then?!  I thought your house would be made of sticks and mud!

Molly:  I'm so lucky that you adopted me.
Me:  Awwww....that's so sweet.  I'm the lucky one!  I'm lucky that you're my daughter.
Molly:  Oh, I know.  I mean I'm lucky that I'm adopted because I get to have an adoption day and if you're just "born" you don't get to have an adoption day.

Molly (as we pass a cemetary):  There's where people are buried when they die.
Me:  You're right.
Molly:  But just their bodies are buried.  Because their heads are in heaven.

Molly:  Are we going to adopt more kids one day?
Me:  I don't know.  We might.  Would you like that?
Molly:  No.  I'd rather go to Disney World.

Rayna is still learning how to make a lot of her sounds, so most of her words are still "baby" words.  I love her little four-year-old voice.  She has some phrases are so cute and hilarious!

I saw it in my eye = I dreamed
Leaves with syrup = spinach with ranch dressing

She's also always saying the cutest and sweetest stuff!

Me:  You girls have been watching TV all morning.  It's time to turn it off.  You guys are going to become little couch potatoes!
Rayna:  And what does God say about that?!

Rayna:  Mama, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Me:  A Mommy.
Rayna:  AGAIN?!

Rayna:  Mommy, you got a little bit of strong muscles.
Me:  Thank you!
Rayna:  You got a little bit of strong muscles but Daddy and Bapa got a lot of strong muscles.

 Rayna:  Nana, do you have a mommy and a daddy?
Nana:  They are in heaven.
Rayna:  Do you have a honey?
Nana:  He's in heaven, too.
Rayna:  It's okay, Nana.  I can be your honey!

Happy Birthday to Caleb and Aimee!

Today is Aimee's 11th birthday and last week, Caleb turned 13.  We went over to the Newmans' to celebrate.  I can't believe how quickly these two are growing up!
