Snow Day!

After going to bed very disappointed at the lack of snow, the kids woke up very excited to see that it had snowed overnight.  The girls had a great time playing in the snow--even jumping on the trampoline in the snow!  Aaron was very excited to get to go outside, but not so excited about the strange, cold white stuff everywhere.  He walked around for about five minutes before deciding that he would rather be inside by the fire. Like true southerners, we enjoyed the snow for a day and now we are ready for it to melt and get back into the 60's!  :-)

Library Grand Opening

Rayna's preschool now has it's very own library thanks to Rayna's amazing teacher!  She has been working very hard on putting together a library for her preschool for over a year.  It's finally ready and they had the grand opening today.  Rayna and I got to attend and the new library is BEAUTIFUL!  Everything is right on eye-level for preschoolers and the books are all appropriate for preschoolers.  Rayna gets to check out books for the first time next week!  She's excited about the library, but she was even more excited about the WBEC cookies she got to take home!

Love moments like these....

This is Brian's busy season at work so I have been doing dinner and bedtime by myself.  Tonight, I was putting Aaron to bed and noticed that the girls were really quiet.  I came into their room to find them both cuddled up on Rayna's bed, Molly reading to Rayna.  So sweet!

Dentist and Donuts

The girls had dentist appointments today and it was Rayna's very first trip to the dentist.  She did SO well!  I was so proud of her!  And of course, her big sister was awesome, too.  After our trip to the dentist, we went out for donuts.  I remember when I was a kid my dentist office was right across the street from an ice cream shop and we would always get ice cream after going to the dentist.  There is just something so fun about getting your teeth all sugared up right after getting them cleaned.  ;-)

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Today we learned about Martin Luther King, Jr.  We did a little project and read some books.  It was the first time I've ever taught on MLK day and it was great!  Happy Birthday, Dr. King.

Uncle Richard and Aunt Marie

Uncle Richard and Aunt Marie came for a visit today.  Aunt Marie bought some new boardgames for the girls, so we played boardgames this afternoon and spent some time outside.  What a nice surprise visit!

Party with my Princess

Rayna was invited to a princess birthday party today.  She was so excited!  She changed her dress three times before we left this afternoon.  I got to take her and spend a little one-on-one time with my favorite four-year-old.  Love this girl!

Library

I took the girls to the library this week to get new books.  We've been going to the Monroe library since the girls were itty bitty and they love it!  Molly is beginning to move out of the "easy" readers and into simple chapter books.  She's becoming such a good little reader!  And Rayna has learned almost all of her letters.  So proud of my girls!

And Little Brother loves to read, too!

I love my husband!

Me: Who won the football game?
Brian: The 49ers.
Me: Wooo-hooo!! Go 49ers!
Brian: Ummmm......we didn't want the 49ers to win.
Me: WHAT?? Of course we did! (We both graduated from UNCC!)
Brian: *Sigh* This was pro football. We were cheering for the Panthers.
Me: Oh.

So glad my hubby loves me even with my limited sports knowledge!

Taste of Spring

After a stretch of very cold days, we finally had a beautiful day.  It has felt like Spring today!  We decided to take advantage of it and walk to the playground.  It was so nice to get outside!
Aaron has learned to go down the slide and he does it the exact same way his big sister did it.  He turns around and goes down backwards--just like Rayna!

First Day of Homeschooling!

Today was our first day of homeschooling.  Molly is such a good little student.  She put forth her best effort and got her work finished quickly.  It was a good first day!  I think she missed Rayna while she was at school because once Rayna got home they played ALL afternoon.
Molly says she likes this uniform WAY better than her school uniform!
Aaron was a good little brother while we worked.  He only climbed on the table a couple of times.  :-)
Rayna was so excited to go back to preschool today!

Winston-Salem

This is Daddy's busy season at work, so I decided to take the kids to Grandma and Grandpa's for a few days.  We miss Daddy, but we are having a lot of fun!  Today, we went to the Children's Museum in Winston-Salem and the kids had a blast!  They have so many fun activities for the kids.  It was the perfect place to "let loose" a 6, 4, and 1-year-old.  We are having a great time with Grandma and Grandpa!
