30 Week Update

Tomorrow I will be 30 weeks! I had a doctor's appointment today and had another ultrasound. Everything still looks nice and healthy! I had my gestational diabetes test and some bloodwork done at my last appointment and everything looked fine. It was SO fun to see new pictures of Rayna! We're excited about meeting her in about 10 more weeks! :-)

Happy Adoption Day!!

One year ago today, Brian and I got a bus for the Dong Anh orphanage to pick up our baby girl. It was such an AMAZING day--one I will never forget. This has been such an awesome year with our sweet girl. It has been so fun to watch her grow and develop this year--watching her learn new things and experience so many "firsts." The name Molly means "wished for child" and for as long as I can remember, I dreamed of the day that I would adopt a child into my family. One year ago, that dream came true. She is everything we wished for and SO much more. I know that God hand picked her to be our little girl.
We love you so much, baby girl! Happy Adoption Day!! :-)

To celebrate, we went out for Vietnamese. We tried a restaurant called PhoReal--really good Vietnamese food and a nice atmosphere! It brought back memories of our time in Vietnam--only it was air-conditioned! :-)

22 Months Old!

Our little sweetie is 22 months old today! As Molly's Adoption Day gets closer and closer, I think back on what we were doing this time last year. One year ago today, we boarded a plane to pick up our little girl in Vietnam. What an exciting day! Tuesday is the first anniversary of our adoption! We are so excited about celebrating!

What's in Mommy's Belly?

I love how when I tell her goodnight she gets a very concerned look on her face and wants to make sure that I'm not forgetting to read her her book. :-)

Big Step!

We really celebrated today as Molly stayed in the nursery by herself for the first time today!! Now this may not sound like a big deal to those of you who drop your toddler off in the church nursery or preschool and they go in happily. But for us it was HUGE. Molly typically gets hysterical anytime we leave her and we have to go back and get her after 10 minutes or so. Well, our wonderful friend Jen volunteered to switch from the baby nursery to the toddler nursery for Molly. Molly loves Jen, but usually won't stay with ANYONE, even people she knows and likes a lot. But this Sunday she did great! She only cried for a few minutes and then was happy! Which made us happy! We talked to her about it on the way home and she was very happy, not at all stressed out. So we're saying a prayer that this will be the first of many Sundays that Molly goes to the nursery. :-)

How sweet is this picture of our girl with her daddy? LOVE IT!!

August Fun Continues

We've had a fun, busy week so far. My Uncle Hemant was preaching nearby, so he and my aunt stopped by for dinner on Monday night. My brother and his family were over and we had SO much fun! Molly got to play with her cousin Lexy which she always loves.

My cousin Jason bought Molly some new sunglasses. She loved them!

It has been SO hot here this week. It's been too hot to take the kids outside for recess at all this week. It doesn't really get cool enough to go outside until after Molly's bedtime, so pretty much the only outside time she gets is at the pool. Which she doesn't mind! She LOVES the water! It rained this evening so it was a little cooler out and we got to go for a walk. I am SO ready for Fall.

Snackin' at the pool
School is still going well. We had our first PTA meeting last night. Here is a picture of (most of) our kindergarten team. They are great! If you want to keep up with what's going on in Mrs. Hines' and Mrs. Austin's kindergarten class, you can check out our new blog!

Hump Day!

Whew! I'm over half way through my first week back at school! The first couple of weeks back are always so tiring. I'm pretty much ready for bed every night after dinner. But everyday gets a little better. I have a sweet little class and they are starting to get into the routine of school. It's amazing how much they learn--and SO fast!

Yesterday we went to my brother's house to celebrate my niece's third birthday. Molly had fun playing with Lexy and was even attempting to sing the "Happy Birthday" song to Lexy. I need to get Molly "singing" on video--it is SO cute! Happy birthday, Lexy!

Kissing Cousins--so sweet! :-)
I know I'm cute! :-)

Visit from Scottie

Our good friend Scottie spent the weekend with us this and we had such a good time! We've been visiting with friends and family a lot this summer which has been really good for Molly and I've seen her really blossom in her relationships with other adults. She's struggled with separation anxiety ever since we brought her home, but I've seen a big difference in her this summer. She wanted Scottie to hold her this weekend and even cried when she left this afternoon. She still didn't want to stay in her class at church today, but I'm hoping that will come soon!

Scottie and I met in college and she now lives in Greenville. We had a great time hanging out and catching up! We can't wait to see you again soon, Scottie!
